It amazes me when I really think of the dynamics of the unity of the body. In other words if you're a person that does not go to a church on a regular basis, attend a small group, or involved you might not have a clue of what true unity is all about.
Church and the people who attend are not perfect by no stretch of the imagination. But true family can be found.
It blows my mind when I get a phone call asking If we need help with anything or someone comes over "just because". Rachel and I truly love our church body, our small group, and the friendships that have been established.
Someone asked us if we needed anything for Isaac, we simply responded, 'we're good right now'. We continued to tell them about how many of our friends rised up to help us out. "You must have a lot of friends", they replied. We have friends because we're part of something big, God's family.
When I married Rachel little over 3 years ago, she was afraid of moving to California not knowing anyone except for me. Well, today she has more friends than I can count, some from work, some from church, and some from a few doors down. God is good.
If you're felling lonely I encourage you to get involved. It's more than just church, it's family.
