These last two weekends were refreshing and gave my wife and I the rest we've been needing. I'm thankful for friends that the Lord has placed in our lives. Friends that can step in and help provide that rest.
Last week I had many conversations with people regarding Listening Prayer. One Youth Pastor said, "I think it's kind of pentecostal-but it's good." Most people that I run into call Listening Prayer pentecostal and I am not understanding why. I was born and raised pentecostal so maybe I'm not understanding where they're coming from. The Bible clearly states that Jesus speaks to His people. I would list all the scriptures that pertained to Jesus speaking to us but there really is no room in this format.
As I was spending some time with Him (Jesus) the other day I was thinking that It is good to be near God! It's not about being pentecostal, Lutheran, baptist, or any denomination for that matter. It is good to be NEAR Him. There is nothing more freeing than being near the living God. There is nothing more than being breathless next to HIm. If I believe that the Lord is speaking to me today and that makes me pentcostal, then I guess we'll leave it at that.
