What a busy weekend! I flew out Friday at 6am to head to Dallas where I lead the Missions 101 seminar on saturday. Then, flew back on Saturday night and finally getting in after some delayed flights at 3am.
I wanted to get back in time for Sunday because it was a special day. Not only was it my 32nd birthday but Isaac was being dedicated at our church. After church we had a BBQ where I grilled some chicken (it was good!). Rachel and I were blessed at the amount of people who showed up at church for his dedication. Our church has four services and there were a few people that went to the previous service and came back for the dedication. Our cousing came from a couple hours away to attend as well.
We ended up having 30 people at the BBQ. Rachel and I are so blessed to have friends and family that care deeply about our son's life. Isaac has a HUGE family. Isaac started sucking his thumb, though it's not the best thing it is cute watching him. When I hold him now he smiles and just stares at me. When I walk into a room Rachel says he moves his head so he can look at me, I love that!
For my birthday I got some startbucks cards (how come you're not surprised) and Rachel got me an Ipod. She'd been asking me questions and wondered to myself "am I getting one for my birthday?" Then at the store I decided to look at them and when I saw the price I said to myself, "I didn't think so", then walked away. She got it using points from our bank card. It was truly a surprise. A friend got me an I tunes card where I can buy some music and such. I guess I am finally somewhat in the modern age, but then again, how do I use this thing. I've already downloaded some music from my music I had at home and some sermons by some people I respect. It will be nice as I trave not to be confined to the airlines choice of music.
Thank you to all who celebrated Issac's dedication with us. We appreciate you and love you.
