I've been thinking for the last several days about the word "more".    How much more does Jesus have to pour out on His Church.  There has been revivals in the past, some that I remember very well, and we would cry out "more Jesus".  That Revival has come and gone and now what.  Why does He show up at times and some times not.  Maybe there are times He is there ready to unleash but the Church is not ready.  Perhaps God is getting ready to explode something to the Church but the Church is not mature.  You wouldn't give a grenade to a child.  I wonder if God is waiting for the church to rise up. Think about how many times I hear a debate about someones doctrine.  Think about what it would look like if the church

actually
came together.  What would that look like? Would that be revival.  I've been going through the book of Nehemiah and I wonder how much God yearns for revival as much as we do.

In Jeremiah 1:10 we see God's word will root out, pull down, destroy AND build and plant. These things need to happend today! The days which followed the rebuilding of the walls were like the heaven on earth, everything went right! Revival was happening!  Let me distinguish for you the difference between the word "revival" is a "re-discovery of the living Christ." It has to do with the Christian Evangelism - with the unsaved being won to Christ, and is the permanent duty of the Church.  While Revival is the gracious outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God (To be re-vived, you must first be vived!-Pastor Ron Harden) Revival in the group happens when there is revival in the individual.

God is the same today and is just has eager to give us the fullness of His blessing.

1.
RETURN to tenderheartedness (Vs 1-2) "Being sensitve to Him; not just taking Him for granted.

2.
REFLECT upon God's Goodness (Vss 6-15)
Think on it,
speak about it, and
give what good you receive from it. "Meditate".

3.
RECOGNIZE our sinfulness (Vs 33) an honest examination

4.
RENEW our obedience (Vs 38; 10:29-30) put it into action

Revival is not simply emotional upheaval, it leads to ACTION!  In our home life, social life, and our church life.   And when action comes into our church life there is a rise in faithfulness.  Faithfulness in giving, in Worship, and in service.
